You know your data.

We help you engage the audience.

context

Traditional media

The Creator produces a written product (book/article). The story is told. The reader is a “receiver” of the message.

Digital media

The Creator prepares a story space, and encourages the audience to engage. The story is discovered. Audience co-creates by interacting with the story.

Problem

You are a researcher.

You work hard to produce precise data, and extract insights from it. You write up your findings in some of the usual office tools that we all know and love. The document is deep and very interesting, yet some people find it opaque and intimidating. It is 187 pages after all.

Your mom has no clue what you do (but still loves you). Your partner admits it’s all “actually quite interesting”, after you explained chapter 2 over the second bottle of wine. Again. A journalist once called you and you spent 45 minutes on the phone. She sounded like she understood everything but never called back.

We will help you create stories that engage people and inspire action.

You are a business advisor or an investment professional.

You work day and night, analysing businesses based on a lot of numbers. You are an Excel black belt and a PowerPoint Jedi. You dream of =sum()’s. You shred reports like a Shred-o-mattic 5000 turbo.

Still sometimes, presentations come and go, and the most senior person in the room looks at you and wants to know the “so-what”.

We will help you distil the key messages for the Board. We will create interactive tools that make your analysis compelling and drive real-world decisions.

You are a company communication specialist.

Your company regularly produces a report. You spend months every year with you favourite agency and produce a very nice PDF document. Every word is carefully weighted, every number painstakingly proofed.

The document is approved and you upload it to the server 3 minutes before the deadline. You spend the final 3 hours compressing the pdf to 19.99MB and you are finally done. Done. Yet, its downloads barely crawl into double digits and all anybody ever asks about is a box on page 37.

We will help you create mini-sites, short clips and interactive analyses that you can share and promote the good work your company does.

Process

1

Understand (your data)

Starting with workshops that focus on the gathered data, the competitive context, and the desired outcomes, we will consult you how to formulate your objectives and structure the data for the presentation.

2

Craft the narrative

Resulting objectives will be articulated into a narrative line that’s backed by data every step of the way. This will make it much easier for your audience to follow the thinking and understand the conclusions.

3

Profile your audience

We use HBDI® (Herrmann Brain Dominance Instrument) as a way of modelling your target audience communication preferences so we can tailor-make the presentation that resonates with them.

4

Design for engagement

Informed by all the insights from previous phases, we will design the presentation to match the visual identity of your organization, and make the data as clear but immersive as possible. Apart from charts and tables, we can also help you sort out maps and timelines.

5

Produce (digital story worlds)

Digital media being perfect for animated, interactive or modelling presentations we will produce a responsive web site, animated videographics, or a tablet app that you can share online. Of course, a well designed PDF is included in the package.

6

Launch (to the world)

The end of the production process is actually just the beginning of your publication life. We will help you launch it to the world, boost engagement and promote it on all relevant channels.

Results

The results can range from information design in printed publications to full blown multi-channel campaigns presenting the results of your research or organization.

For Kultura Nova Foundation, we have consulted and crafted the presentation of their extensive research on effects of COVID-19 and Zagreb earthquakes on the cultural sector in Croatia conducted together with the Ministry of Culture and Media. Apart from the classic PDF booklet with the entire research, we’ve produced a responsive web version together with the narrative based summary aimed at the wider public and the media.

For Eureka, the world’s biggest public network for international cooperation in R&D and innovation, as well as their Eurostars programme, we have created a high-level animated videgraphics presenting the organization and their programmes through data.

For ESPON, the European Commission programme aimed at inspiring policy making with territorial evidence, we continually provide support in designing their policy briefs and working papers based on maps and territorial research.
